Date, venue: 9 - 11 October 2017, Magnitogorsk Event info: Since 2000, the Rolling Congress in Russia has been the major forum of experts and scientists in rolling, tube and pipe and metalware production. All companies with significant assets in the Russian ferrous industry, as well as many individual plants, participate in this event. In 2017, the congress was organized and conducted by the Association of Rolling Mill Specialists, MMK and METPROM. METPROM was a primary sponsor of the event. With a total of 285 participants, the largest delegations were from MMK, NLMK, Severstal. Scientists from higher educational institutions formed a major part of the attendees. There were employees of engineering companies, suppliers of equipment and materials, consumers of steel products. Participants from Austria, Belarus, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and USA attended the congress. Presentations and papers were presented at the plenary session and at 7 workshops: “Production of hot flats”, “Production of cold flats (also with coatings)”, “Production of long products”, “Production of tubes, pipes and roll-formed sections”, “Production of metalware”, “Fabrication and operation of rolls and roll guides” and “General and theoretical issues of rolling". During the Congress, a tour to the hot rolling, long product rolling, cold rolling and tube and pipe rolling shops of MMK rolling production, as well as MMK-Metiz plant.
